I engaged this firm on the recommendation of a trusted contact. However, after a year of service, I decided to terminate the agreement due to ongoing inconsistencies and frequent errors in their work. To his credit, Alan did issue a goodwill refund amounting to approximately 25% of the fees paid, which partially offset the costs and mistakes incurred during their tenure as my accountants. While the gesture is appreciated, I believe the refund was more an expected resolution than a voluntary act of goodwill—akin to receiving compensation for a product not fit for purpose. Final note, to communicate with Alan i had to first email his female colleague for her to communicate with Alan and then relay his response back to me as Alan directly would just ignore me, very professional. Edit to give context in reply to their response. Within 12 months you guys achieved the following: -Vat penalty point for late submission despite me chasing for weeks. -Registering my neighbours address with hmrc rather than mine. -sending me reminders for upcoming dates (when they've already passed.) -set up meetings and then flaked out last minute. -penalty fees to my account which you promised to cover and then nothing happened. -marking me as a contractor when im not a contractor. -ignoring your own accounts, my files said I still had almost £1000 outstanding despite every bill being paid and cleared. I could go on but i will leave it there. Saying you disagree with my interpretation to something that is just factual is pretty frustrating. I wish you all the best but dont downplay valid complaints.

The service I received started off great but I did feel the level of communication lessened as time went on. I was a one man band so didn’t need much doing as it was a small business. I felt the money charged didn’t justify what I received. I didn’t get what I needed - someone to let me know when I should be submitting my docs etc. that could’ve been a break down in comms? I was informed I had received an email to submit my personal tax info but I received no email which ended up me being charged by HMRC for late submission. This was something that had been done previously on time. I don’t feel I received a consistent service.

Having recently appointed Alan to look after our companies accounting and tax matters, I would highly recommend the Acumenica Group to anyone looking for a professional accountancy service that they can trust and depend on. Over the pass week or so, Alan and his team have spoken to, and assisted me more than the previous appointment company had in 5 years. I feel my accounts are now managed effortlessly and I have peace of mind that our company is being looked after and feel in safe hands.

Alison and the team at Acumenica have been great when providing accounting services to my limited company over the last 3 years. Having had a really bad experience previously with a national firm I was undoubtedly nervous with going back into the contracting market and deciding who I could have as my accountant. Alison is very knowledgeable and has been very supportive and understanding from the start. Always available to answer questions. Always ensuring tasks are completed. Alison has been very patient and allows me to playback what I've heard to ensure my understanding is correct.
