Jenny Plumb did the conveyancing for me on a very complicated auction property with a very tight 4 week turnaround and was excellent from my initial contact to completion. Even before being instructed she provided lots of useful food for thought in my initial phone call and from then on was very available when needed and did a lot of chasing and managing of the other stakeholders in the purchase. Would definitely recommend and use again.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Almy & Thomas solicitors that I feel compelled to share. I initially engaged their services for my first property purchase, and I was quoted just over £1,000. However, by the time the transaction was completed, I found myself paying a staggering £3,000. This significant discrepancy in fees was only the tip of the iceberg. Communication with the team was disheartening. I found myself consistently ignored when trying to reach out via phone calls and emails, which only added to the frustration of what was already a long process. It took a total of 8 months for the purchase to finally go through—a timeline that felt unnecessarily prolonged without any clear updates or explanations. Given my experience, I would not recommend Almy & Thomas to anyone looking for reliable and professional legal services. The lack of communication, unexpected costs, and the way I was treated throughout the entire process have left a lasting negative impression. I genuinely regret choosing them for my first property purchase and urge others to stay away. There are certainly better options available out there.
