We joined Brookwood accountants when we were moving from single trader status to become a limited company. We were assured that we would be given plenty of guidance with growing the business but unfortunately this was not the case. We were supposed to receive 2 hours of training in Quickbooks but were only given 45 minutes and the training was very poor. As a result, we later discovered that we were not using it correctly but this was never flagged up to us. We were also not informed that we should have become VAT registered which has now resulted in us having to pay back money and face a fine from the HMRC. After leaving, we were sent a bill for £420 for a service carried out 10 months previously and they refused to hand over our accounts to our new accountant until we had paid. We have now had to pay over £3000 to sort out all of the errors over the past year and have the stress of having to move to another accountant.

I've been with Brookwood Accountancy for over 30 years and have always found them to be efficient at keeping someone who knows nothing about HMRC and tax out of trouble. In particular thank you to Sophie Burborough for her patience over the years!
