Absolutely appalling Service and conduct. Becks the mediator was rude, belittling, and difficult to deal with to say the least. Not at all impartial or neutral. I was told off for smiling and looking off camera. The company tried to pressure me to sign documents I had not received or read through. I was also told I could face court action if I didn't setup and pay for the initial meeting. During my first mediation session. Every form sent was incorrect and unaccessible to me initially, not with the email correspondence I was informed it would be. I was told by mediator Becks to sign while on the video call. I explained that I wasn't too sure about this and that I didn't feel I should be doing this during my session that was being payed for. I was then told, it doesn't matter as my ex partner is using legal aid and I wasn't actually paying for it. Highly unprofessional and disrespectful attitude. This was my first session and the thought of having these rude nasty people having any say about my children is deeply disturbing. Since this the office has been harassing me with emails 6am in the mornings to sign the forms. All of which still have the wrong surname. All they care about is getting their vouchers signed to claim the legal aid payments. And drag out the process to milk the money from legal aid. I was told I would be contacted to discuss the next steps but haven't heard anything apart from being bombarded with the same incorrect forms. I believe it is a training centre and am unsure if anyone is qualified or actually interested in helping people. I will be avoiding and recommend people do the same, especially if it involves something as emotional and sensitive as arrangements for your children.

Mabel was very helpful in assisting us to come to an agreement that suited our child best. All parties involved knew that this would be a tricky process as we were all highly emotionally involved but Mabel was able to remind us why we were there and able to guide us to be more productive with our conversation. I never liked the idea of mediation but if I were to recommend a mediation service it would definitely be this one.

I have had a great experience with children 1st, they have been brilliant, they have been there for any enquiry and any questions. The mediation process was very straight forward and stress free with the mediator who was brilliant at not only listening but offering guidance. I hope I don't need them again but if I do, I know who I'm going to!

Highly recommended. Friendly and efficient staff. Service is made very easy to use. Our mediator, Imogene, was excellent. Imogene is friendly, non judgemental, fair and really helped to keep sessions focused on what is important and she is very child focused. We have managed to reach an agreement which has exceeded my expectations! Very happy!

Although my experience of this company was afew years ago it still haunts me. I walked out in tears. After leaving a domestic abuse marriage where me and my children had both come to harm in every way. We had to try medication before court proceedings. I was treated so badly by Mabel. Who was so rude and spoke to me in such a horrible way I left in tears. Being told I needed to do handovers with my children to their father after abuse and police involvement and when saying I didn’t feel comfortable with this I was told I was making things awkward and difficult and how I was the problem. My ex was a risk to my children. I walked out of mediation and never returned. Once attending court my ex partner was granted no contact! Which shows I was right to feel the way I did and how Mabel was wrong to push me into something that wasn’t safe for me or my children. I feel she’s in the wrong job and she’s no mediator. She takes sides and pushes people to do things that are not safe! I will never use this company again and would never recommend to anyone either!
