I made an appointment in advance to get my affidavits signed by Jim who knew I did not use a typical lawyer but divorce online who I highly recommend as it’s all done for you and extremely affordable. My elderly dad drove 35 minutes to come and sign them with me and I got childcare for my son only to be told within 10 seconds of sitting down that “I’m afraid I cannot sign the forms”. Long and short because he’s an old fashioned lawyer who doesn’t like companies that are making divorce affordable because he could have ripped me off for thousands instead. He had my email and mobile number yet never had the courtesy or consideration to call and tell me before I came in, which would have saved me and many others helping me a lot of time and inconvenience. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. I have since found neighbouring solicitor in lanark who have agreed to sign the affidavits no problem and who agree he is just unhappy that these companies exist. If you want your time to be treated with respect and value, don’t use them. Terrible way to treat people when it’s completely unnecessary. I got divorced within 18 weeks with divorce online. Don’t waste your money.
