I do not recommend this firm. They were recommended by Bromford Housing Association, which in my view created a clear conflict of interest from the beginning. Throughout the process, it felt as though Bromford’s interests were prioritised over mine as a paying client. I did not receive independent representation or advice, and their approach appeared aligned with protecting Bromford rather than acting in my best interests. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to choose a genuinely independent solicitor who will represent you, not the housing association that referred them.

I would strongly advise against using Davies and Partner Solicitors in Gloucester. Our experience with Phylip has been extremely disappointing due to poor communication, pointless delays, and a lack of proactive service. When we received the property search report, we were advised to read everything carefully, which we were more than happy to do. We asked for guidance and any key points to be ‘highlighted for our particular attention’, as we appreciate they would have a much better grasp of the legal details than we would. The response we received was: "I have to highlight it all, sorry – there is no shortcut." We weren’t looking for a shortcut, we were seeking professional input on what aspects might require closer attention or further investigation. We’re fortunate enough to have a family member who is a retired property solicitor, he identified 13 important issues in the report, none of which we would ever have known to look for ourselves. Throughout the whole process, we were left to communicate and update the sellers agents and intermediary ourselves due to the solicitor’s lack of communication with anyone, this added significant stress and nearly cost us the purchase. This level of service falls well below acceptable standards. Since our file was closed, we have contacted Davies and Partners with a formal complaint and are pleased to say the Chief Executive has been in touch with us and say they ensure it won’t happen again. However, we will not be using them again, neither will we be recommending them to anyone.

I had an excellent experience with them who assisted me with my mortgage case. They were very helpful, patient, and kept me updated throughout the entire process. They clarified all of my questions, and I am extremely satisfied with their service. I highly recommend them for any legal needs. I also loved their app, which is very user-friendly, and the communication via the app and email was seamless.

As first-time buyers, we were nervous about going through the motions of buying, dealing with solicitors, and everything else that comes with purchasing a home. However, the amazing Clare Sharp and Amitha Alex took away all of our stress, going above and beyond for us throughout the process. They have both been available and have answered any queries or questions we have had, no matter how silly we thought we sounded. Nothing has ever been too much for both of them. It has been an easy process, and we cannot thank them enough for the work they have put in, as well as being two incredibly kind people to deal with. We would recommend Davies and Partners. Thank you!

Fantastic solicitor’s, particularly Nicola, who was absolutely wonderful to deal with throughout the stressful buying process. I would highly recommend Nicola to anyone purchasing a new build home - you will not regret it!
