To be honest I engaged Emerald because they were the best value for what I thought was going to be a straightforward sale of my house. It turned out to be anything but (the first sale falling through literally a day before exchange, the second buyer demonstrating a variety of ... idiosyncrasies) - however Emerald Law, and in particular the associate solicitor Laura McNally, provided *exceptional* service through the whole tortuous process. She was completely professional, incredibly responsive and went out of her way to help even with an obstructive counterpart on the other end. I've dealt with a variety of solicitors over the years and she ranks as one of the most professional and pleasant. Delighted to have done business with them and very happy to strongly recommend

I was appointed this company from a broker. They were appointed mid December. First week of February we received a form to sign for authority to act on our behalf. Even though we had already been dealing with them. We should have known at this point that it was a red flag given the previous weeks experience with them. Previous to this, myself and estate agents were trying to contact them by phone. Calls just went to an answer machine, with no return. Responses to emails were days, running to a week asking for information already supplied. On the occasions when they rang us, we would ask questions to be told they would come back to us. They never did. I believe what added to the difficulty of dealing with them was we never knew who was responsible their side for what. We were receiving emails from 4 different people. Out of these 4 people, 2 of them didn’t work 5 days a week. This naturally, resulted in a breakdown of communication. The role the 4 people played within the sale of one property and the purchase of another has been very clear from the onset. My belief is that Emerald Law create barriers to fulfilling the service they advertise. I cannot deem that this is intentional, but that is how it appears to myself. If I could give zero stars, that would be my rating. I have only given my opinion of the service, or rather lack of, relevant to our particular dealings with them. Both estate agents and Sales progress companies, so another 4 parties have also commented that they have never experienced anything like this. We can’t all be wrong. Step with trepidation.
