only giving one star as i cant give none. administratively inept. they dealt with the other side on a sale and the sale nearly collapsed due to their professional incompetence. the buyer found them enormously frustrating to deal with.

I’ve been a very satisfied Customer of the Commercial and Will departments of EMG. I needed conveyancing for a house sale and the experience was shocking. No reply to the Estate Agent, buyers Solicitor or any contact with myself, in over a month. No work was commenced and my deposit returned. To be avoided.

Really poor experience working with EMG on the sale of two homes and purchase of our new property. The conveyancing team are hugely overworked to the point where the vast majority of our transaction was not handled with or dealt with by the solicitor and unfair pressure is put on individuals who don't necessarily have the experience when things get tricky. We chose EMG knowing we were paying a premium but with several recommendations from friends and family we expected a premium service - unfortunately the opposite is true. The key issue here was communication (or lack of) which, front and centre of the website is supposedly one of EMG's strengths. Multiple issues throughout including missing a payment we had made two weeks prior (causing a two week delay) which lead to us being homeless and perhaps most shockingly realising after we completed that they had lost the signed copy of our mortgage deed - how we were able to complete without this is beyond me. I felt for the vast majority of time I was the only one keeping on top of the transaction or chasing the other side. On two occasions we raised issues with the Head of Residential conveyancing but have had no response. In the interest of being balanced we were really pleased with the efforts of our solicitor close to completion after some complex issues arose but unfortunately by that point it was too late in the day.
