I had an extremely poor experience with this solicitors firm and would strongly advise others to avoid them, especially first-time buyers. Communication was appalling. Emails were rarely answered, and when I tried calling, the phone was almost never picked up. I was left chasing constantly, with no updates or reassurance throughout the process. When paperwork was eventually sent to me, it was incomplete, with important documents missing. This showed a serious lack of attention to detail and caused unnecessary stress and confusion. As a first-time buyer, I relied on my solicitor for guidance and clear explanations. Instead, my questions were often ignored or not properly answered, and I felt I was treated poorly and not taken seriously. Overall, the service was unprofessional, disorganised, and incredibly frustrating. This was meant to be an exciting milestone, but it was made stressful due to their lack of communication and support. I would not recommend this firm to anyone.

Avoid. I used their services five years ago to complete my first house purchase, and they were absolutely shocking. In fact, if it hadn’t been for the developer’s solicitor contacting me about the lack of progress, I’m not sure anything would have been done. Emails went unanswered, and at one point I had to call them daily to make sure things were moving forward. Whenever I visited in person, they left me standing in a tiny reception area and made me feel very unwelcome. The only reason I’m writing this review now is because I came across the old emails, and reading them gave me a full flashback to the whole ordeal.

I would strongly advise against using this firm. As a first-time buyer, the service we received was extremely disappointing and caused a huge amount of unnecessary stress. Emails often went completely unanswered for up to 10 days at a time, and every step seemed to require us chasing repeatedly before anything was actioned. The process was consistently slow and disorganised. Most concerning was being told on completion day that we suddenly needed to pay an extra £455 — on top of the £450 we had already paid at the start for searches. No clear explanation was given for what this money was for, other than vague references to “searches,” which left us feeling misled and cornered into paying at the last moment. To make matters worse, we weren’t even informed until we called them ourselves just two days before the original completion date that it would not be going ahead. The complete lack of communication and professionalism was staggering. For the level of service received, the fees were excessive, and the overall experience left us frustrated, stressed, and very dissatisfied. I would not recommend this firm to anyone.

We have used Howells to act on our behalf on a very complicated purchase and unrelated sale. For our purchase Sara Miles was fantastic, always willing to discuss progress and advise us on what was a bit of a mine field purchase. She always took the time to explain any issues and give us options on how to deal with them, including with the Land Registry. I know that if it wasn't for her, our purchase would have taken much longer. For our sale we dealt with Kayleigh Griffiths who was nothing less than brilliant. She kept us informed every step of the way and was so efficient the whole process was done and dusted in two months. There were also a couple of occasions when I had to pop into the Swansea Office and the people I dealt with on reception were also brilliant. I would never hesitate to recommend both Sara and Kayleigh and while I hope we won't be moving again for a while, we will definitely use their services again if we do! Thanks both :-)
