Avoid this practise at all costs . My experience is specifically with the Manchester office and the solicitors Steven Morris and George Leeming . I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of both this office and these solicitors. We had real problems with their conduct and their management of our case . We had a strong negotiating position with our opposition having already been awarded a judgment against them . We instructed jmw to oppose any reopening of the matter . They were slow to start and as soon as they received their fees upfront , it was challenge after challenge to get them to take instructions . Their involvement at every stage of discussion with the opposition left us in a weaker position and we had to involve ourselves to ensure the case was not completely jeopardised . Both solicitors would not listen and at points were frankly aggressive and difficult . I did advise them at the time that they clearly have a culture issue at that branch as , having dealt with other practises , I have never found it so difficult for instructions to just be accepted , especially since every instruction we gave left us in a better position . Prior to our hearing , we were never given a cost schedule and have never seen one to this day . We took part in a negotation for our costs , again that we had pushed for when the advice provided to us was to not bother seeking costs , but with an incorrect value provided to us verbally of what the costs were .This is your solicitors job . Following receipt of the funds to their client account , we were advised of costs which had not been agreed . We were advised they were debiting the costs . I had a family member in end of life care and made sure I was clear that this was disputed but as I was off work I would revert back to them . They came back and advised they had debited the unagreed costs. It is important to say that there are solicitors and other practises who do act with duty and care and are also not dishonest . My experience with these solicitors was that they are the worst of their profession . Their approach was uncommercial and just not bothered and we were forced to advocate a better outcome for ourselves . Once we had, they tried to take credit for it and then debited the funds we had negotiated with unagreed fees . As soon as they had received their upfront payment at the start of the case they just washed their hands of the matter without concern for their clients funds . The management was also awful , no costs schedule , mistakes on the court order and then debiting further fees without any agreement . As I am reading now in the comments , I wish I had read the comments before instructing them , there are so many complaints and there is clearly an issue with the standards at the Manchester office that isnt being dealt with and should be avoided at all costs .

As a first-time buyer, I was quite nervous about the conveyancing process, especially after a disappointing experience with another solicitor firm, we switched to JMW Solicitors. Holleh and Rachel, completely changed that for me. They we're efficient, always available to take my calls, and very quick to respond to emails and deal with enquiries. Everything was explained clearly and handled smoothly, which made the whole process so much less stressful. I would definitely recommend JMW Solicitors.
