A disappointing and distressing experience despite longstanding client relationship As a medical professional, I engaged Kingsley Napley for a GMC matter, and initially valued their support. However, my experience significantly deteriorated after the case concluded and legal fee recovery began. Despite having paid over £250,000, I faced an aggressive and rigid approach when I asked to repay the remaining balance through structured monthly payments — due to ongoing financial hardship and mental health challenges which were known to the firm. I disclosed my vulnerability on multiple occasions, yet there was no adjustment in tone, consideration, or process. A County Court Judgment (CCJ) was pursued against me, which Kingsley Napley later admitted included a material miscalculation (£5,000 not deducted). Rather than engage or acknowledge this in a constructive way, they offered only to vary the judgment by consent, preserving its reputational damage. I have now submitted complaints to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Legal Ombudsman. While I do not dispute the existence of a debt, I expected a more professional, compassionate and transparent resolution — especially from a firm of this calibre.

I had a case in 2020. My solicitor was Rebecca Smart. It seemed she was on the side of the police as she was selling me an American dream and the day before court she said I admitted to her that I was at fault. Only until I reminded her that I am not these typical stupid low tier criminals that she may represent that would ever say such a thing and it she is going to my court case to say I done it then don’t come and appoint me someone else. A few hours later my case was magically dropped. The evidence the police had on me was very weak but she wanted me to plead guilty and was trying to manipulate me into accepting a guilty plea. If chat GPT had existed in 2020, AI would have given me a better service. Unless you want to be convicted of a crime or want a free stay in HMP finest rooms then contact these solicitors and enjoy your rent free room.

I've called this firm twice over the past 2 months and I keep being told "a member of the team will get back to you" but no-one ever has - whether by phone or e-mail. This firm does NOT inspire any confidence in their 'services' and I find it extremely difficult to believe any highly rated comments in the reviews to be genuine, and I suspect that, most positive comments and ratings made in favour of this firm - are members of the firm, or family & friends of individuals working with this firm.
