I cannot thank Matt enough for the help he has given me. I had a police caution for affray which was going to stay on my DBS record permanently. This was devastating as I wanted to apply to medical school and it felt like my future career was being blocked before it had even started. I was in a very difficult situation: I had a caution for possession of cocaine that was blocking me from being able to move to the United States to marry my fiancée. In late 2023 I was arrested on suspicion of an offence under the Malicious Communications Act. This related to a tweet referencing current events which had occurred the previous day. Following interview at the police station and despite my explanation, I was issued with a Caution. Over the following months I came to the conclusion that the police were in error and decided to attempt to have the Caution removed. After researching a number of firms who specialise in this area I decided to talk to Matt Elkins at Legisia Legal Services. Matt has an excellent record of having Cautions removed and he explained the process in great detail. He worked closely with me before submitting his final statement and rationale to the police which I am pleased to say resulted in the police admitting wrongdoing and removal of the Caution. Although I knew the outcome of this process couldn’t be guaranteed I wanted to stack the odds in my favour. Having accepted a caution 25 years ago for cannabis possession I didn't think there was much that could be done about it. In the years following the caution it just kept coming back and causing problems with travel/employment etc. With the upcoming European entry/exit system and ETIAS I thought I would try and do something about it. So glad I found Matt and Myriam and Legisia - they quickly and efficiently put together a submission and case for it to be removed. A couple of months later and the Police agreed. Now it is gone, removed after a quarter century. My only regret is not doing it earlier. Highly recommended!! Thank you guys.
