Paid for a divorce case in September 2024 850£, never heard anything back until November 2024. Then asked to pay 250£ monthly for their assistance. I paid 750£ (the equivalent of 3 months), then suddenly asked to pay an overdue payment of 1216£. When asked to explain why, they replied that a lawyer is charging 270£/hour. I then came back with a proof that I only spoke with them 1 hour and 6 minutes and received only a couple of emails which I thought were paid. In total, I spent 2809£ for this and the firm refused to continue with my case because I complained about the costs. It is an agreed divorce and still not able to resolve it although I paid so much money.

Morecrofts have handled my late sister's estate since her passing in February 2023 . The estate has just recently been finalised and I have been provided with a very satisfactory full and comprehensive detailed set of accounts and report . The main person dealing with her estate was Mrs Emma McNamara and I have spoken to and corresponded with her on many , many occasions . ( I live in Northern Ireland ). I must say I have found her to be professional , efficient and friendly to deal with . She has been very sympathetic and understanding to me throughout this whole process . She has kept both myself and my co executor fully informed of all the actions she has taken and of any necessary action required of us . She has certainly , by her friendly manner , really helped me through this whole complicated process . David Tournafond who has been the supervising solicitor has also been easy to deal with and extremely helpful. Thank you both very much for all your help. We were appointed to work with Derek. Really disappointing company to work with and would not recommend at all. He never responds to calls even though you get told he will be back in touch. I spoke with Derek after we decided to use him and he decided to stop replying to any emails even after trying many times. Very unprofessional.

After using Morecrofts Prescot branch in our recent house purchase, we are delighted Alison was the lawyer to assist us. Alison kept us regularly updated, and didn't make us feel we were bothering her when we had any concerns, no matter how busy she was. She listened to us and put our interests first, explaining any difficulties in plain language and was wonderful in working to our timescale. Our situation was more complicated as we were moving to England from Scotland and almost everything had to be done remotely, but we felt very secure in Alison's hands. I would go out of my way to recommend Alison Williams, senior associate solicitor at the Morecrofts Prescot branch, to anyone looking for a conveyancing solicitor. Her response time to any contact from us was impressively efficient. She gave clear, practical, sensible advice to the various issues that came up during the purchase and sale. I had complete trust in her during the process each time. She was professional and very pleasant during our conversations. I do not think I could have had a better legal service from Alison.
