I needed advice relating to unpaid property tax. I contacted Morris Wheeler and they promptly provided me with the advice that I needed. Mike Walden and Sohaib Ahmed dealt with my file. Sohaib Ahmed prepared the return for me to check and authorise. Sohaib was particularly helpful and very patient when dealing with the information I needed and the resulting questions that I had. Once the return was made, I was promptly advised by HMRC and my liability was paid and the case closed. I cannot recommend Morris Wheeler enough. They were very efficient, easy to deal and get in touch with. Their knowledge of tax related matters is excellent.

Absolutely brilliant service, HMRC had discovered a rental property that had somehow got missed of a tax return. Some very worrying letters followed. Contacted Morris Wheeler and had a conversation with Mike Walden that eased our immediate concerns. Morris Wheeler were instructed to sort our self-inflicted tax affair mess, they sent a detailed spreadsheet and questionnaire which was completed and returned. Morris Wheeler submitted everything to HMRC, we paid the monies owed and HMRC sent a letter to say the matter was closed. Huge relief. Highly recommended.

I rang to request an appointment to discuss assorted financial planning matters and was advised that someone would call me back. I chased the following day and was advised that the message had been passed on but no one had picked it up yet. I am still waiting. Does not bode well does it?

We chose this firm specifically because Mike W is an ex HMRC inspector. He gave us much confidence. However, our case was handed to a junior team member with far less experience and knowledge which resulted in a number of mistakes and omissions being made. Further, these issues were not spotted by the team but by ourselves, resulting in us having to undertake a large amount of work to correct the situation. Some were basic mistakes e.g. not including figures that had already been provided, not querying things which were inconsistent with other info provided, mixing up letters to HMRC, poor grammar, spelling, etc. The initial figure we were given as payment to HMRC doubled once the issues had been corrected so we ended up paying significantly more than expected. The bill remained the same though. Disappointing and stressful overall.
