Reviews
I had very brief dealings with Ogden, Lyles & Fox about 10 years ago and left feeling they were a solicitors I would use again when needed. Things must have gone downhill since, because I've tried ringing the number for their Eccles firm several times, and left my details for someone to get back to me twice, but I've heard nothing in ten days of ringing and waiting. Seems mine is not a unique experience. I won't bother with them again.
Very professional throughout our business with them. My only criticism is that documents that require signatures should have a card with instructions on and perhaps posted documents should be signed for . A very clear professional service, would recommend
We have used Ogden lyles and Fox for many years and in particular LB mentioned in the review below and were actually involved in the particular deal reviewed. The deal was much more complicated than stated with the buyers solicitor causing issues and many holdups along the way. It might have taken 215 days but not all these delays were attributed to LB or OL&F, they included the death of the purchasers mother and a 3 month delay due to me contracting Sepsis and being on organ support in ICU. So in short don’t let that review deter your decision to use OL&F and LB JnJ
Very poor conveyancing experience with LB. Process took over 215 days. I’ve been involved with well over two dozen property transactions including some large and complex transactions and this was without a doubt the least efficient. No advice given, no calls returned, no queries answered. The response seemed to be “if you don’t like it you know what you can do”. It did not help that the other side employed a “conveyancing factory” which literally had a check list of points (some relevant some not) which they absolutely refused to budge on. Combined with the zero response or guidance from OL&F it was a toxic mix. Very painful and tortuous. I can’t quite believe that it didn’t collapse and I’m convinced that it only completed as we approached the Xmas deadline as ourselves and the keen purchaser pulled out all of the stops “to get it over the line”. I emphasise this was a relatively straight forward transaction of a small flat in a well maintained block of seven. Never again. N
