Our autistic son was charged by CPS of stalking without fear/alarm/distress (recordable). This came as a shock to us, and we did not know where to turn for help. Looking for legal help from solicitors who are aware of autism spectrum disorder was daunting. Our search brought us to Reeds’ Solicitors after reading their autism related statement on their webpage. Our case was taken up by Mr Nathan Seymour-Hyde, who has a reputation for writing excellent ‘letters of representation’. Nathan’s calm demeanour and patient listening helped our son feel at ease with him. He explained to our son what would be expected if the CPS were to go ahead with the trial. At the trial, Nathan’s defence was based on meticulous examination of the evidence presented by the CPS and its ambiguous nature which could be confusing to a neurodivergent person. He dismantled the evidence during the cross-examination of witnesses and presented a strong closing statement. Nathan secured a favourable court verdict for our son which has had an enormously beneficial effect on his welfare and future, for which we as a family are eternally grateful.
