Reviews
The service our family received was both professional and exemplary from start to finish of what was to prove a very long and difficult process. Our family was kept fully informed and supported throughout the whole process. I would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending Stephens Scown for any future work.
Sue Reynolds and Becki Severn went above and beyond AGAIN! Super efficient, friendly & speedy conveyance with any problems arising resolved with minimum cost and time, this is the 3rd time I have returned to use their service which says it all! Highly recommend!
Stephen Scowns were not acting on our behalf in our recent house sale then chain collapse, but we were on the receiving end of their unprofessional service. The solicitor concerned seemed to have very little understanding of her clients financial situation when it came to the final house purchase stage, she suggested dates when it then became apparent the funds were still not in place, very little communication and clarity in emails. The chain collapsed after 7 months, had they been honest with regards to the clients situation and the lack of certainty in the funds, the whole chain could have saved Β£1,000's. When we contacted them to only try and discuss our frustration, we received, what we considered to be a rather rude response. "Our complaints policy exists for the benefit of our clients. We were instructed by our client in this matter and cannot discuss with you those instructions. We will not therefore be replying further to your email or to further emails from you on this matter and you should discuss any concerns with your own solicitors." Obviously we didn't want details, just to try and understand where things had fallen down, so we could ensure it didn't happen again. As a company they gave the impression they were above such things and not really interested in customer service. Needless to say on talking to other people it became clear that in one form or another we weren't the only ones to suffer at their hands.
Sue Reynolds and her team from Stephen and Scown dealt with the sale of our glamping business, flower farm and house. Sue and her assistant Grace were absolutely fantastic from start to finish and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Without their knowledge, professionalism and dedication I doubt our sale would have completed as it was not straightforward at times! Then just before exchange I ended up having an emergency C-section and my baby was admitted to intensive care for a week. The Stephen and Scown team really went above and beyond to help me when I needed it most. Ladies - it was great working with you and I can't thank you enough for everything you did for my family and I. Best wishes, Beth
I've recently had the pleasure of working with partner -Verity Slater- along side Charlotte Plummer for an extremely personal case regarding discrimination and inequality. Unfortunately it wasn't the first time since relocating to England that I'd experienced unfair treatment however Verity and her team were caring and sensitive to my needs and details of the cases. Received great outcomes in my favor and highly recommend this firm. I'd like to say I can't wait to work with them again however I'm praying I won't encounter anymore problems ππ½...But if I do, you can guarantee I will be using these legal services again.... Thank you!
