I am updating my previous review (see below) as I am now in a better head space and understand the processes better. Although it wasn't made clear at the time by The Family Mediation Trust, the process is each party will need to complete a MIAM before filing a court application, unless one party is exempt (i.e. domestic abuse) or the other party refuses to engage (where they will then sign it off so you can then proceed with the court application). I have had to go back to court again, and knowing the process and what to expect has made the process a lot clearer for me, and yes I have used them again. Just not impressed with how expensive it is just to have a compulsory assessment to see if mediation is appropriate (which I knew it clearly wouldn't be) just to be better able to file a court application. I am very disappointed with the service. They are not transparent with their fees on and verbally inform you of the wrong information untill they have initially taken your money. I was advised there would have to be a MIAM prior to mediation where both parties can give their side of the story and after my initial meeting then the other party would be contacted to have hers. I was not made aware that you would have to pay for two MIAM's and it didn't say so either on their website! So the £119 MIAM turned into £238. For a charitable organisation, that is a very steep fee for about 90 mins, and it wasn't even face to face, it was over a MS Team's meeting. By the way my appointment only lasted 36 minutes. Now I have the cost of the mediation sessions before we even touch on the costs of court proceedings (fingers crossed it doesn't have to go that far for my child to see me).

Easily accessible just off city centre. Would seem to be a hub for vast array of professionals to meet clients. All necessary facilities look to be present. Bringing a legal action i'm taking was ideal 'local' place to meet the professional rather than London.

Awful service! From beginning to end I was constantly chasing them to do their job and contact my ex-partner. Long delays in between contact showed no urgency on their part. When it came to mediation, too much time was wasted by the mediator and no attention was actually being paid to the subjects raised. To what is obviously a very import subject of the care of your children, this company is very slack and has poor customer service. Stay away!
