My experience working with William Sturges LLP has been disappointing, particularly in relation to cost transparency and communication. At the outset, I was provided with a written fee estimate which I relied upon when deciding to instruct the firm. However, I was later invoiced for a total amount almost 70% higher than the upper end of that estimate, without any prior warning or request for approval to exceed it. I raised this issue repeatedly, but the firm has maintained that the additional fees are payable. Communication throughout the matter was inconsistent. Time-sensitive correspondence was often forwarded late, advice was at times unclear or incorrect, and this resulted in avoidable pressure around deadlines. Despite having already paid the full amount originally estimated, I am now involved in an ongoing fee dispute which has required escalation beyond the firm. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone considering instructing William Sturges LLP to seek clear, written assurances around cost management and communication expectations before proceeding.
