My friend and I were recommended Withers for a piece of work relating to a business venture. We needed an international practice, which was the sole reason we looked beyond PHB, who are my go-to law firm for life. The service we received was sub-par. We essentially walked away from our consultations none the wiser, but thousands of pounds lighter. The advice given by Withers felt really basic and under-researched. We felt half-heard and half-served. As our work was progressing Withers kept "unbundling" more and more parts of it and trying to sell them as additional pieces of work, which, if added up, were close to doubling the agreed-upon fee. We never tried to extract any freebies, and we would pay extra for reasonable overage, but the way that was handled by Withers left a bad taste in my mouth. Not all greed is good - some is just cheap. We were also plagued by incompetent admin throughout. It is unfortunately almost certain that we will have to start from scratch with another practice, effectively writing off what we got from Withers, because, frankly, there was so very little of it. I remain baffled with the enormous gap between perceptions and reality, but since reality won't go away even if I stop believing in it, I will have to adjust my perceptions. I am highly unlikely to work with Withers in the future and based on my experience cannot in good faith recommend them.

Unprofessional. Markets it’s services to international embassies but the quality of service is below standard. Natalia Barrett doesn’t even care to respond to emails sent on professional matters. My recommendation is to consider more responsible legal services providers.

Even after mailing them twice there was no response. Left me with a very unprofessional impression. Guessing my case would probably not have been lucrative enough for their business. At least a declination would be a decent move but no answer at all?

They shared other people's private divorce application with me by accident in a PDF; this was never acknowledge or email recalled. The Decree Nisi application was rejected because of their sloppy administrative errors as the petitioner. They recommended additional documents that were unnecessary, took much time, and ultimately weren't used. And from what I understand, they are very expensive.

Withers is an outstanding firm providing a very high standard of professional advice. Withers is small enough to really care about personal relationships yet big enough to provide a global network.
