Absolutely disgusting solicitors, they helped with a spouse visa application, from start to finish their communication was absolute trash, being months in-between, went nearly two years with ZERO communication, had surprise fees out of nowhere and their initial price was £4k which said it included everything. The court date was said to be rescheduled, from June to August yet we didn't even know about the June date, they demand their payments or incur extra fees, the lawyer provided was a contracted independent lawyer, and he fumbled the entire case, we never received a decision from the court or Allison law in over two years which put my partner at severe risk. AVOID at all costs, you're going to be scammed and abused by these people who include a "no disparage clause" which may I add, is asinine and clear indication of them being a terrible service to silence any criticism.
I am extremely disappointed with the service we received from this law firm. From the beginning, the experience was filled with poor communication, incorrect information, and an endless stream of unexpected charges. We initially trusted them to help with a spouse visa application, but it quickly turned into a frustrating ordeal. One of the most upsetting aspects was the surprise fee they suddenly demanded we pay within two days. This fee was dated four months prior, yet we were only informed about it at the last minute. To make matters worse, they threatened to impose an extra charge if we didn’t pay within the two-day window. It felt like a clear attempt to take advantage of us. The final straw was the complete lack of clear communication. After submitting a signed document required for our case, we waited for a week without any updates. When we finally reached out, the lawyer claimed the document wasn’t signed a claim that made no sense given our actions. Why weren’t we informed immediately if there was an issue? Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this firm to anyone. Their lack of professionalism, constant errors, and poor communication made an already stressful situation much worse. Avoid them if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.
Absolutely terrible service and client relations. Probably spent around 5 days in a years time communicating with us. Then as our court date was a week an away they started sending us poorly written and structured statements not corresponding with the information given, or even some knowledge that we’d given the statements at all. They said a barrister would cost around £500 at the time of accepting their work for it to change from £500 to £600 to £700 within the space of a few days as the court date loomed. Then after them receiving the visa grant decision they decided to not chase up a signature that they needed and blamed us for not making sure they had received it. Which delayed the process even longer in an already delicate and frustrating time. Then to add salt to the wound they send us an unexpected outstanding charge of £90.40 for an ‘info search pack’ which after asking for evidence of proof of work they would not deliver and said that it is stated that ‘unexpected’ fees may occur. Which would be understandable but the ‘fees’ were dated as of 15/01/2025 and we had only two days to pay upon receiving the letter notifying us of the charges 4 months after. All on top of a £2400 payment which was for an urgent appeal on visa refusal, in which it states that all paperwork carried out within this cost but then refuse to define or give proff of work done outside of these parameters. And all being run from a shack in Rusholme looks like a squat with computers. Would definitely avoid this firm and save yourself the time effort and money.
am extremely disappointed with Alison Law Solicitors (2 Wilmslow Road, Manchester M4 5TP). I paid £3,600 for an urgent immigration case that was supposed to be submitted in two weeks – it’s now been over 2.5 years with no result. My case has been passed around from one staff member to another. None of them know what’s going on. There’s no communication, no responsibility, and no progress. Talat Jabin, the Head of Immigration & Training Principal, took my case but never treated me with respect. Once the payment was made, she became completely unresponsive and made me feel like I was wasting her time. She never replied to my calls or emails. Her attitude was cold, dismissive, and clearly only interested in money. Because of their failure, my husband’s immigration situation has become even more difficult. The stress and damage this delay has caused our family is beyond words. I do not recommend this firm at all. Please be careful before trusting them with your important legal matters.
