We used this agency/broker to arrange a solicitor/conveyancer for my house purchase and honestly, I regret it. The biggest issue from day one was communication. It was poor, inconsistent, and frustrating throughout the process. Getting clear answers was a struggle, updates were either delayed or vague, and I often felt like I had to chase constantly just to find out what was going on. When you’re buying a house, you need people who are organised, responsive, and transparent. That wasn’t my experience here. The second major problem was the quotes. The figures provided felt meaningless because what I was quoted did not match what I ended up paying. The conveyancer seemed to charge what they wanted, and when the final costs were different, there was no real ownership taken by the broker/agent who arranged everything. A query was raised with HLD about the difference, but instead of someone properly taking responsibility and sorting it out, I was left feeling brushed off and passed around. It also felt like there’s too much “back scratching” going on. Everyone involved seemed connected or aligned in a way that made it harder to get an honest resolution when something went wrong. Even when you raise concerns or complaints, it doesn’t feel independent or customer-focused — it feels like they protect each other rather than support the client. That’s not what you want when you’re already dealing with one of the most expensive and stressful purchases of your life. Overall, the experience left me feeling like I wasn’t a valued customer — just a transaction. The process lacked transparency, accountability, and basic customer service standards. My advice to anyone considering using them: do your research before choosing a broker or letting them “recommend” a solicitor/conveyancer. Get independent quotes, compare reviews, and make sure you understand exactly what is included and what might be added later. Don’t just go with the option that’s presented to you as convenient. Warning: unexpected extra charges My experience suggests Home Legal Direct is not trustworthy. After I instructed them, I was passed to their original solicitor (PCS Legal), who then attempted to charge additional fees beyond what I understood was agreed at the start. To be clear: Kensington was not involved and did not charge anything extra. The issue was the attempted extra charges by the solicitor linked to this. Avoid this company at no cost . They only wants their commission. That’s it . They have no sympathy with you . So avoid avoid avoid .

Evelyn was such a joy to speak to today! She was polite, friendly, great at communicating the next steps that where going to take place moving forward. She corrected an error on the system and emailed the conveyancer to speed up the process, so that i didn't have to go back to them. Super efficient and even made me laugh! Thank you for our amazing service! If i have to call back for anything, I will definitely be asking to speak to her!

Michael has been a pleasure to deal with today, trying very hard to resolve a technical problem for me.
