Jones Whyte Solicitors were recommended (among others) to facilitate the buying and selling of our new home by the builders of our new build, Taylor Wimpy. We decided to go with Jones Whyte as they had not only the most competitive quote, but the most accessible office hours as well. I'm pleased to say the recommendation was impeccable. Taylor and the team at Jones Whyte were swift, friendly and professional throughout the whole process and helped make this complicated transaction as painless and stress free as possible. Absolutely thrilled with the service and we'd use them for legal services again in a heartbeat.

I originally had a will made by Jones and Whyte and everything was fine, no issues. Then when I moved to France I needed to add an amendment to the will. This was literally two sentences. I was forced to pay a deposit up front. Then I was supposed to have an online meeting with the person handling my case. They didn’t turn up and instead I had someone else, who basically told me that she had to check my case with a colleague. She was pleasant and I had no issues with her. Fine. I did also tell them that I was due to have surgery and that i would like the amendment before my surgery as a precaution. Time passed and nothing. Then around a few days before my surgery I was emailed to say that they couldn’t help me. Wow. After my surgery, I was following up with emails that were unanswered by the incredibly unprofessional person, who showed no empathy whatsoever regarding my surgery. It wasn’t until I wrote a threatening letter before action and my deposit refund was instigated. All in all it took many weeks to process. To being with I was offered a cheque… zzz - sadly I will never use this company again. The complete lack of understanding and help for what I would Consider an extremely simple amendment is ridiculous. I distinct had the impression throughout that I was a small fry waste of space and that they had far more profitable case to deal with. AVOID!

I can't recommend Jones Whyte highly enough! We initially worked with Weronika, who was incredibly efficient. I truly believe that without her, we wouldn’t have secured the home we just purchased – she was outstanding. After our offer was accepted, we had the pleasure of working with Ross Jones, who was equally fantastic. He was efficient, helpful, and nothing was ever too much trouble. He made the entire process seamless and stress-free. I had expected the experience of buying a home to be complicated and overwhelming, but it was the complete opposite. We are beyond happy with the service and couldn’t recommend them more. A huge thank you to Weronika, Ross, and the entire team at Jones Whyte!

If you’re considering using Jones Whyte Solicitors in Glasgow for a personal injury claim — don’t. I sincerely wish I had read the reviews before ever engaging with this firm, some i have noticed have been removed. My experience over three long years was frustrating, emotionally draining, and at times felt outright exploitative. I was first contacted by Ashley Todd, a paralegal, who was relentless in chasing me for information at the start. Once she had all the details, the communication dried up completely. I had to chase her for every single update, with long periods of silence. It took them 15 weeks after the accident just to arrange my first physio appointment — a shocking delay for someone in pain. The “specialists” I was sent to were dismal. The first orthopaedic appointment was via WhatsApp video, which felt completely inappropriate for a proper assessment. After months of worsening symptoms, I was sent to Michael Foxworthy, who displayed arrogance, dismissed my concerns, interrupted me repeatedly, and seemed more interested in the type of car I was driving along with current employment status rather than my injuries. I later discovered an article about a misdiagnosis he made involving a child’s spinal tumour, which eerily echoed how he dismissed my symptoms and blamed them on unrelated past health issues. Things only got worse with Jonathan Bannister, the next “expert.” He contradicted himself in his own report, first stating I showed no signs of exaggeration, then implying I was lying and should undergo psychiatric evaluation. Attempting to use past medical history to discredit me. Came across as polite in person however his report was deeply disappointing, condescending in tone and dismissive in content, as though I were fabricating my symptoms or mentally unstable. Despite clear MRI evidence (that I paid for myself privately at Nuffield hospital) showing post-accident damage, he chose to completely disregard it. Instead, he focused on unrelated past medical history in an apparent attempt to undermine the legitimacy of my condition and discredit my account of ongoing pain. This theme ran throughout the firm — they never answered the phone. It would go to voicemail, then minutes later, they’d send an email. Both Ashley Todd and solicitor Steven McTaggart followed this odd, evasive pattern. When I complained, my case was passed to Michael Jefferies, a senior partner, but things didn’t improve. He forgot scheduled meetings (once because he “forgot he had his children”), and also acted offended when I questioned him on the credibility of these medical professionals they sent me to. Especially Mr Foxworthy due to the article I read about his misdiagnosis. I did send the link to this article to Michael Jeffries to read. After three years of back and forth, I received an £8,000 offer, only to see £2,910 in deductions. I was horrified to find they attempted to charge me £1,310 for physio, including £590 that I had paid for myself out of pocket! When I provided receipts, they completely avoided accountability for what was clearly an intentional attempt to extract additional money for the firm. Once confronted they retreated and rather than a direct explanation, I got vague, nonsensical reply from steven regarding why I was being asked to pay this off my offer, this felt like haggling at a dodgy market stall. Eventually, they agreed to reduce their fee to 10%, which still felt undeserved given that I did more chasing than they did. It’s absolutely shameful for a non-fault accident victim to feel like the enemy in their own claim. Jones Whyte are not advocates they are opportunists. They drag cases out, avoid communication, work with arrogant, dismissive “specialists,” and try to sneak in questionable charges hoping clients don’t notice. They didn’t represent me. They hindered me. I didn’t even choose this firm — they contacted me after the accident, I assume the insurance company or a third party gave them my contact details. If I’m ever in this situation again, I will avoid Jones Whyte like the plague.

Jones Whyte facilitated the purchase of my new home. The first solicitor was a complete shambles and I wished I had taken recommendations from friends. He did not act on requests and subsequently left the company. However!!! Carole really turned things arround, was professional and I felt like she took ownership of my case from that point. She was always in communication with me and everything concluded on time. Thanks Carole, you are an asset to your firm!
