Cerise Elvira White works for them. When she was a paralegal in housing she purposefully was going to send 3 poorly spelt grammatically incorrect pages that were not my words and the rest blank black pages to the council as my application until I complained to the solicitor. The section 184 letter is supposed to state the type of social housing you are allocated and it doesn’t. I have been placed in affordable accommodation when eligible for social rent and my condition has worsened. She said to me in relation to to the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, that she has seen worse cases and people have been thrown out on the street. She has little empathy. Bindmans are also no good as solicitors acting as action against the police solicitors. I was spiked with GHB , the police were a party to it and a barrister who thankfully is no longer a barrister. The police accidentally lost the CCTV, the ICO upheld the complaint, the neurologist has confirmed it was the trigger. A paper states exposure to solvents to those with a susceptibility can cause MS and research on identical twins confirms that it is not a natural conclusion to develop the disease without the trigger despite having a susceptibility. They couldn’t run this case so I have to do it myself like my housing. application.
I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before using Bindmans LLP’s crime department. We genuinely believed we were in capable hands, but the experience has been extremely disappointing and distressing. There has been absolutely no duty of care shown towards a vulnerable adult. Between October and June, we were charged almost £20,000 — with over £14,000 of that between January and June alone — yet much of the promised work was never completed. We were even billed for endless emails chasing updates, asking questions, and giving instructions that were mostly ignored. We were left in a worse position than when we started and have now had to hire a new firm to fix the damage and continue the work that Bindmans should have handled properly. When we raised our concerns with Katie Wheatley, the partner supposedly overseeing the case, she didn’t even have the courtesy to respond or return calls. Instead, the case was left with Nicholas Jennaway, whose approach was completely disengaged and careless. He showed little understanding of the matter or effort to familiarise himself with the details when it was transferred to him. We’ve asked for a refund given the poor service and lack of progress, but Bindmans continue to justify their charges. We are now pursuing the matter through the Legal Ombudsman and SRA. In my opinion, Bindmans LLP do not deserve their reputation as a Tier 1 firm. The service we received was unprofessional, negligent, and showed a complete lack of care or accountability.
Their website gives the impression they will help but the Housing team cannot take on cases as they are busy with Grenfell etc and unable to take on my case which is Section 21. It is so frustrating when a large firm such as Bindmans is not transparent and honest via their website. The website right now has a click her for help option on the Housing page yet the reality is they cannot help.
I cannot thank Joanne and Jessica enough for their incredible support and professionalism throughout this entire process. From the very beginning, they reassured me at every stage, ensuring that I felt confident and informed as we navigated this lengthy case. Their consistent updates and clear communication provided me with all the necessary information to make sound and smart decisions, which made an otherwise stressful situation much easier to manage. Their dedication and expertise ultimately led to a successful outcome, securing compensation for the stress I endured. More than that, they were simply a pleasure to work with—polite, compassionate, and genuinely lovely people who truly care about their clients. I am beyond grateful for their hard work and unwavering support. This is my personal thank you to both of them, and I highly recommend their services to anyone in need. 5 stars all the way!
