My accountant said - "I'm disgusted with Harding Evans - I'll never recommend them!", I say - A simple task was attempted by their seemingly ill informed / not too bright / poorly qualified solicitor, whilst making a recording of a confidential phone conversation without informing me (illegal apparently). Holding onto my house purchase money as long as possible, thus I needed to ask another firm of solicitors to request, more than once, that it was returned to me. I am still owed the bank interest which Harding Evans earned on MY money. Even their compliance officer was below standard; they didn't ensure the solicitor complied with their duties, so maybe they think compliance is a one sided thing ? And they actually refused to give me details in writing of what they said in a phone call between us! After pressing the compliance officer I could hear the break in their voice, & actually thought they were close to tears - so utterly unprofessional. And their fees? I was quoted one tempting price for the work, but Harding Evans ended up charging at least 50% more than I was quoted. I found the whole experience of dealing with Harding Evans the most stressful of my life, and unless they're the sole solicitor firm available anywhere, I would recommend to go elsewhere. They are by far the worst firm of solicitors which I have ever encountered.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Absolute nightmare to deal with, especially Judith, who was awful from start to finish. Made the whole experience for the family 10x more stressful than necessary. Rude and unhelpful at every opportunity it seemed. Do yourself a favour, and choose a different solicitors and save yourself a massive Judith shaped headache. Horrendous. Do not recommend. Would give minus stars if I could.

Slow, dumb, unprofessional. Nothing positive to say about a revolving door of offhand, unresponsive girls on email. Lied to their client at the building society when we asked them to query no progress. Zero proactive communication, repeatedly failed to inform both mortgagors. Did nothing for 3 weeks waiting for us to call and pay for photocopies while on a business trip. Then asked for supplementary information, lots of it. Refused to indicate time line for completion so I can manage vendor expectations until we complained to a partner. Gouging fees, 90 pounds to look at a solar panel invoice and decree ownership!! Roll on AI, it could hardly be more impersonal and anything would be more efficient.

My parents have used Harding Evans for many years so it was natural to use them to handle my late mother's estate. From our initial meeting with Hannah to the conclusion of business the whole process was handled with efficiency, dignity and professionalism. I would have no hesitation in recommending them and using then for any future requirements.

Faultless experience with Jamie Beese. Exactly the solicitor experience i was hoping for. Communicated regularly and updated me with next steps. Would use again without a second thought.
