Would NOT recommend. Used these solicitors for a house purchase. Was never given a quote, but always told it would be inline with the person who recommended us. We then got to completion date and sent a balance statement showing the fees. We had been charged a reasonable fee, but also then charged additional fee of £295 + VAT for the specific lender we used. At NO point was this disclosed to us that we would be charged for using different lenders! After questioning this, we were told it would be wiped off and then a day later told NO it was still due but would be reduced by £100. Then on day of completion the solicitors requested an additional £155 from us before they would complete saying its last minute searches. At NO point again was this advised or NO invoice provided for this fee. After completion I contacted them twice, once for information regarding the shared garden and then a week later following up on this plus decided to make a complain due to no response or the fact that nothing was provided for the additional £155. I'm not considering taking this matter further to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission.
