I found myself in need of a solicitor in early 2020 and Goughs was recommended to me by a previous client. Having only dealt with solicitors for a house purchase I was unsure what to expect, but I found Ross the epitome of professional. He was calm, understanding, professional, and empathetic to my situation. He offered sensible solutions and took on board my thoughts and concerns. I would have no hesitation recommending Goughs.

Ross has always been very fair, considered & professional when I have been involved in family matters. I have always had implicit trust in Ross insofar as he will always consider the needs of the child first and advise accordingly. I have always felt very secure knowing Ross will handle matters to alleviate the pressure and the distress court proceedings can inflict on everyone involved . The worst solicitors we’ve come across! Between the 2 of us this is house sale/purchase number 6 and Goughs solicitors are the worst ones out there. We had the simplest possible case for them to handle: no onward chain selling to first time buyers, doesn’t get any easier. It took us 5 months to complete. They are extremely slow, to the point where no one (buyers, sellers, estate agents) could get hold of them for weeks at a time. They’ve been exaggerating all the points to buyers which misled them hugely during the process. They’ve raise imagined issues that they wanted resolved and once it’s been weeks into them requesting unrealistic stuff they’d eventually dropped all the requests. They’ve been late with drafting documents and processing everything. We nearly dropped the sale because things were being handled so badly. Gemma Molloy was the buyers solicitor for this case and it left us with the feeling that we would recommend against using these solicitors ever again to all our friends and family. There has also been a case that we got quotes from them and prices are extremely inflated, incomparable and for this quality of service it is just a rip off. Do not use Goughs ever!
