I think we should be careful about this company. I received a late filing penalty notice of £150. I paid this by check in 2024. A few days early in July 2025, we got another notice for the same reference number with the one we paid for in 2024, this time with amount of £107. Again today we got a notice the same reference number saying that thanks for paying the part of £150 to reduce your liability with our client, we look forward to receive £85 in order to suspend proceedings. We only had a late filing fine on the company house of £100. We already paid to Shakespeare Martineau for £150 a year ago. But I don't think I will ever trust Shakespeare Martineau any more.

Reporting to the regulator. After spending weeks trying to pay a CCJ, they are managing on behalf of Company’s house. I simply cannot get hold of them. They do not answer the phone, they are corrupt, I am one of very many customers with the same issue. They have now ruined my credit. I’m applying directly to the courts and providing all of the evidence of my contact with them or lack of. This company should not practice law. They do not answer any forms of communication.

I received a random email on behalf of their client and paid the requested amount. When I tried to verify if they were a legitimate company, no one responded. To avoid further issues, I paid the full balance but haven't received any receipt or acknowledgment of payment. I've called for five consecutive days, leaving messages with the "claims handler," but no one has responded. This morning, I've been on hold for 30 minutes. Shocking! What's worse, I've overpaid, and I doubt I'll ever see that money returned based on how they operate!

People should be aware that this company, according to a Liberty Investigates report in partnership with the Guardian, has helped a UK university obtain a year-long ban on unauthorised protests, which could see students jailed, and has quietly coached several others on how to take similar legal action. The erosion of free speech is a major concern in this country...even the US administration expressed its concern. Due to the injunction Cardiff staff and students could now face prison and unlimited fines for holding protests without permission from the university, which must be sought three weeks in advance. This all follows conflict between the university and students over a pro-Palestine encampment on campus. The UN Special Rapporteur, Gina Romero, said in response to this investigation that, “profiting from the [...] curtailing of human rights is despicable,” in comments critical of the law firms’ promotion of the tactic.
